JCI Wellington hosts Japanese entrepreneurial leader
Councillor Hayley Wain and JCI Wellington welcomed a distinguished international visitor on Thursday 4th May 2006. Mr Takahiro Goto dropped in on the capital as part of a whirlwind tour around New Zealand promoting Junior Chamber International's mission to create development opportunities for individuals in their 20's and 30's.
Mr Goto is JCI's Vice President with responsibility for Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, the Philippines and Tahiti. The visit reaffirmed New Zealand's world links through organisations such as JCI.
During the afternoon, Mr Goto and local JCI members met with Councillor Wain, New Zealand's youngest elected representative, and Phil Sales of NRG Trust to discuss ways of encouraging leadership, entrepreneurship and social responsibility in Wellington's younger citizens. In the evening he was treated to a traditional Kiwi dining experience at the Southern Cross bar and restaurant.
